Social Media Reading - 070309

  • Tweet This: Twitter Trademarks Tweets(TM) - Brian Solis discusses the recent decision by Twitter to file for trademarks on "Tweet"
  • Fees for Volunteering - Idealist.org is soliciting opinions on how volunteer opportunities which charge of fee should list those fees and what they cover on their search results
  • Authorize.net Goes Down - Due to a major fire in Seattle, several Internet services went down on Friday. Authorize.net used Twitter to keep it's customers up to date on their efforts to get the service back online.
  • Google's New Layout: Love it or Hate it? - When you're the largest search engine, even minor changes to your layout face critique. I don't see much difference and probably wouldn't have even noticed if it hadn't been brought to my attention.
  • Will social media burn conferences to the ground? - I don't think so. The networking part of attending a conference is too invaluable. I think that conferences that forbid tweeting and blogging are just being tyrants.
